Below are some of the most common questions we hear from interested individuals.
We only do land-based dredging. At this time, we are not equipped to do any type of barge-based dredging. By land-based it means the tracks of our equipment are not allowed to be in the water and we must be able to get a dump truck or wheel loader close enough to the track hoe to remove the spoils.
In the past we have dredged out areas for new docks, built coffer dams to construct boat ramps, dredged canals, and dredged stock ponds to increase their size and depth.
Dredging is very expensive due to the many elements involved. Just the delivery/pick-up of the long reach track hoe to a local job site cost around $1500.00 due to the size of the machine and the permits required to transport it. Another potentially very expensive element is the transportation of the spoils removed from the lake/tank/pond. Lastly, most dredging jobs require additional equipment such as wheel loaders/dump trucks/bulldozers/ digging mats etc. While every job is different, it would be safe to say that a weeklong dredging operation could be in excess of $40K.
There are a number of factors that go into the cost of a new aluminum boat dock. The location on the lake also plays an important role in the design and materials. That said, the quality of aluminum boat docks and their installation is as varied as the difference between Chevette and a Corvette. Both vehicles are/were made by Chevrolet, both have four wheels but that is about the extent of their similarities. So basically...as the saying goes "you get what you pay for". We only sell aluminum docks designed and manufactured by Floatation Systems Inc. located in Cullman Alabama. Many of the new aluminum docks we have built in recent years cost over $100K when you add in boat lifts/jet ski lifts and custom powder coating. Most every dock job is different...so please let us provide you with options!
